Description

Since its establishment in 1925, the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) has supported approximately three million scholars in Germany and abroad through its funding programs. As a registered association, the DAAD’s members consist of German higher education institutions and student bodies.

Its activities go far beyond awarding grants and scholarships. The DAAD promotes the internationalization of German universities, supports the teaching and learning of the German language abroad, assists countries in the Global South in building and developing their higher education systems, and provides advisory services to policymakers on issues related to education, international science, and development policy.
